Hamster Kombat’s HMSTR Token Price Drops by 20%, Airdrop Winners Discuss Impact
The highly anticipated listing of Hamster Kombat’s HMSTR token has caused quite a stir in the cryptocurrency community. The token, which initially traded at $0.014, has seen a significant 20% drop in its price, now hovering around $0.011.
Developed on The Open Network (TON) blockchain, Hamster Kombat is a popular tap-to-earn game that recently distributed 60 billion tokens to 131 million qualifying players from its first season. The TON blockchain, known for its association with Telegram, has experienced a surge in user traffic since the token launch, with the game attracting over 300 million users since its inception in March.
Trading of the HMSTR token began on Thursday, with listings on major exchanges like Binance, OKX, Bitfinex, and Bitget. The platform also allowed on-chain token claims, providing users with the option for immediate withdrawal.
The token release not only marks a significant milestone for Hamster Kombat but also serves as a crucial test for the TON blockchain, which faced outages during the DOGS airdrop in August. Developers had anticipated the increased load on the blockchain due to transactions from Hamster Kombat’s large user base.
In addition to the token distribution, Hamster Kombat unveiled its strategic roadmap, outlining plans for a Web3 gaming platform that integrates external payment systems, introduces new games, and incorporates non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as in-game assets. The roadmap also includes the creation of a dedicated advertising network to support the games, with revenues funding token buybacks and rewards distribution.
With only 43% of the game’s total user base receiving tokens in this airdrop and 11.25% of the distributed tokens locked for 10 months, the distribution strategy aims to stabilize the token price and create long-term value for holders.
As discussions among airdrop winners continue and the HMSTR token price fluctuates, the cryptocurrency community eagerly awaits further developments from Hamster Kombat and the TON blockchain.
