TRON Builder Tour at Columbia University: Fostering Innovation and Education in Blockchain
TRON DAO Hosts Successful Builder Tour at Columbia University
Geneva, Switzerland, October 9, 2024 – TRON DAO recently hosted the TRON Builder Tour at Columbia University in collaboration with Blockchain at Columbia and Boston University Blockchain on October 5. The event brought together students, developers, and mentors for a day of hands-on workshops and enriching discussions.
The TRON Builder Tour has previously visited prestigious institutions such as MIT, Cornell, Princeton, and Harvard, aiming to deepen connections and advance blockchain knowledge within academic communities.
The Columbia stop of the TRON Builder Tour featured a hackathon that attracted over 120 students from various universities, including Harvard, NYU, Berkeley, and more. Experienced developers from the TRON community, such as Dwayne Gordon, Eder Teixeira, and Wes Jorgensen, provided valuable insights and guidance to the participants.
During the hackathon, students worked on decentralized applications (dApps) in four different tracks: DeFi, Artistry, Integration, and Web3. The top three projects from each track were awarded prizes from the grand prize pool.
The winners of each track were as follows:
– DeFi Track: Stakecess by Stakecess TEAM, DR by Team D-POK, PrisonCoin by TeamPC
– Artistry Track: Monkey Lotto by Monkey Lotto, NoCapMaps by NoCapMaps, MetaForge by MetaForge Team
– Integration Track: TRONFundYou by NYBO, Swap Squad by BU Blockchain RKJ
– Web3 Track: AI Bot by TRON Support AI
In addition to the TRON Builder Tour, TRON DAO also announced the launch of HackaTRON Season 7, a competition that challenges innovators to create solutions leveraging the TRON blockchain.
TRON DAO, founded by Justin Sun in September 2017, is dedicated to accelerating the decentralization of the internet through blockchain technology and dApps. The TRON network has achieved significant milestones since its MainNet launch in May 2018, including the integration of BitTorrent and becoming the largest circulating supply of USD Tether (USDT) stablecoin globally.
