Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Achieve Their Strongest Week Since October

Institutional Investors Make a Strong Comeback: Billions Flow into Bitcoin and Ether ETFs

Institutional Investors Make a Triumphant Return: Billions Flow into Bitcoin and Ether ETFs

In a striking turnaround for the cryptocurrency market, institutional investors are back in a big way, with U.S.-listed exchange-traded funds (ETFs) focused on Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) pulling in billions last week. This surge marks the best week for these funds in three months, signaling renewed confidence among major players.

According to data from TradingView, the 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively registered a staggering net inflow of $1.42 billion last week, the highest since the second week of October. Notably, BlackRock’s spot ETF, IBIT, was a standout performer, attracting $1.03 billion alone.

The enthusiasm didn’t stop with Bitcoin. Ether spot ETFs also saw significant interest, drawing in $479 million—its highest weekly total since early October. BlackRock’s ETHA fund contributed significantly to this figure, bringing in $219 million.

On a year-to-date basis, Bitcoin and Ether ETFs have accumulated impressive totals of $1.21 billion and $584.9 million, respectively. This influx of capital is being interpreted by experts as a bullish signal, indicating a re-entry of “sticky” institutional capital into the market. This shift marks a departure from the “cash and carry” arbitrage strategies that had dominated, as the yields from such strategies have become less appealing.

The positive momentum has had a tangible impact on cryptocurrency prices. Bitcoin’s value has surged by 6% this month, reaching $92,600, while Ether has rallied nearly 8% to $3,200, according to CoinDesk data.

“The correlation between ETF inflows and price action suggests that institutional capital is actively driving market structure rather than passively following retail sentiment,” noted CoinDesk’s market insights model. This dynamic starkly contrasts with late 2025, when Bitcoin struggled despite moderate ETF interest.

Market analysts suggest that the current wave of institutional investment is positioning itself ahead of anticipated regulatory clarity and macroeconomic shifts expected in the first quarter of 2026. For Bitcoin and Ether prices to maintain their upward trajectory in the coming months, sustained ETF inflows will be crucial, especially after the significant losses experienced in late 2025.

As institutional investors re-enter the fray, the cryptocurrency market is poised for a potentially transformative period, with many eyes now focused on how this renewed interest will shape the future landscape of digital assets.
