In a groundbreaking move, Bybit, the second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced that its upcoming World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2024 competition will feature DEX (decentralized exchange) trading. This integration aims to bring together decentralized and centralized platforms in a unified competition, marking a significant step towards a more connected crypto ecosystem.

The divide between DeFi (decentralized finance) and CEXs (centralized exchanges) has long been a challenge in the crypto industry. By incorporating DEX trading into WSOT 2024, Bybit is paving the way for a more user-friendly and integrated crypto space where traders can explore both sectors of the market.

WSOT has become a prestigious event in the global trading community, attracting over 117,000 participants in 2023. This year, WSOT 2024 will introduce the WSOT DEX Wave and DEX Pro, offering traders access to over one million DeFi tokens, including GameFi tokens, memecoins, and other DeFi projects.

Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit, expressed excitement about the inclusion of DEX trading in WSOT 2024, stating, “This year’s competition offers a unique chance to experience every element of the digital assets market.”

With a prize pool of up to 10 million USDT and luxury rewards such as Rolex watches, global travel tickets, and even a yacht, WSOT 2024 aims to attract a wide range of participants, from newcomers to seasoned traders. The competition will also feature a tiered weighting system that prioritizes strategy and talent over resource advantages, as well as the introduction of subaccounts and an ROI reset card to level the playing field.

In addition to the competition, Bybit is collaborating with Immunefi and the Ethereum Foundation to support Ethereum’s first Attackathon, contributing up to 75 ETH to enhance the network’s security and innovation.
