Construction Begins on Bitcoin Manufacturing Facility in Sparks, Nevada

SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The future of Bitcoin mining in the U.S. is taking shape as Singapore-based Bitdeer breaks ground on an advanced manufacturing facility in Sparks. This ambitious project aims to ramp up production of Bitcoin mining servers, with the factory expected to be fully operational by early 2027.

Located off Pyramid Highway near the Spanish Springs library, the sprawling 180,000 square-foot facility will have the capacity to produce an impressive 10,000 servers each month. While much of the production line will be automated, Bitdeer anticipates creating around 70 high-paying jobs in engineering, skilled technician roles, and support positions.

“We are building a brand new precision electronics manufacturing facility in Sparks,” said Bitdeer Industrial CEO Catherine Guo. “Sinking our roots in Sparks completes our business strategy.”

Guo highlighted three key factors that led to the decision to establish the facility in Sparks: access to a skilled workforce, robust logistics infrastructure in the Reno area, and a business-friendly climate. Additionally, the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development has offered significant incentives, with Bitdeer set to receive over $488,000 in tax abatements over the next decade.

The facility will focus on manufacturing Bitdeer’s flagship SEALMINER mining servers, designed specifically for processing and securing Bitcoin transactions. Unlike the company’s existing data centers in states like Washington, Texas, and Ohio, the Sparks facility will not host the servers, allowing for a smaller environmental footprint. Chairman Paul Hanson noted, “We will use less than 1,000 gallons of water a day—about the same as three household homes.”

Bitdeer executives are optimistic about the future, projecting that product shipments will commence in January 2027. The company is also investing heavily in the U.S., with plans for a $17 billion investment over the next four years, reinforcing its commitment to American manufacturing.

As the cryptocurrency landscape continues to evolve, Bitdeer’s new facility in Sparks represents a significant step toward bolstering domestic production and innovation in the Bitcoin mining sector.
