Crypto Markets Shed $80 Billion in a Matter of Hours as Bitcoin (BTC) Plunges Below $69K (Weekend Recap)

Crypto Market Recap: Bitcoin Drops Again, Alts See Red

The crypto market experienced a familiar pattern last Friday as bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies took a significant hit in value. Bitcoin, in particular, tested $69,000 but failed to hold, leading to a drop of over $2,000. Despite some gains earlier in the week, the cryptocurrency was once again rejected at the $72,000 level, resulting in a sharp decline to a multi-day low of $68,500.

While bitcoin managed to recover slightly and is currently trading above $69,000, it is still down 2.7% on the day. The market capitalization of BTC has also dropped to $1.366 trillion, although its dominance over altcoins has increased to 50.8%.

Altcoins have fared even worse, with Ethereum, BNB, SOL, and several others experiencing significant losses. The cumulative market cap of all crypto assets has also dropped by over $80 billion, falling to under $2.7 trillion.

Overall, the crypto market is facing a period of volatility and uncertainty, with investors advised to conduct their own research before making any investment decisions.
