Dubai, UAE – In a groundbreaking move for the digital asset landscape, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tether, the world’s leading digital asset company. This collaboration aims to enhance blockchain-based communication and payment infrastructures, positioning Dubai at the forefront of the global digital economy.
The MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for both organizations to work together on various initiatives, including tokenization, crypto payments, and digital asset settlements. This partnership is set to establish DMCC and Tether as official ecosystem partners, facilitating collaboration across communication channels, events, and publications.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Global trade is entering a new era where financial infrastructure, payments, and asset ownership are increasingly moving onto digital rails. Dubai has acted early to establish the regulatory clarity and infrastructure needed to support this shift, and DMCC is playing a central role in connecting these technologies with global commerce.”
The framework will also focus on educational programs, industry events, and hackathons, aimed at fostering the growth of Dubai’s digital asset sector and supporting the initiatives of the DMCC Crypto Centre. Tether plans to engage with DMCC’s extensive community of over 26,000 member companies, offering knowledge-sharing initiatives and potential member benefits.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, remarked, “The UAE is actively shaping how digital asset infrastructure is adopted across global markets. By combining our expertise with DMCC’s mission, we are focused on accelerating the practical use of blockchain technology and supporting the development of real-world applications that enable broader participation in digital markets.”
DMCC’s commitment to becoming a leading ecosystem for Web3 and emerging technologies is evident, with over 4,000 technology firms currently operating within its jurisdiction. This partnership with Tether is a testament to DMCC’s strategy to position Dubai as a global hub where commodities, capital, and technology converge.
As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the collaboration between DMCC and Tether marks a significant step towards scaling innovation and solidifying Dubai’s role as a key player in the future of international trade.
