Prediction Markets Sit Off the Chain: Robinhood’s Strategic Moves in Crypto

Robinhood Chain Surges to Third Place in Weekly Application Fees

In a remarkable achievement for its nascent blockchain, Robinhood Chain has secured the third spot in weekly application fees, generating an impressive $25 million in revenue for the week ending July 24. This positions the platform behind only Ethereum and Solana, which recorded $45 million and $39 million, respectively, according to data from CryptoRank.

Launched just four weeks ago, Robinhood Chain has quickly established itself as a formidable player in the crypto landscape, particularly in the trading of meme coins and tokenized assets. “Robinhood Chain’s third-place position makes it one of the strongest blockchain launches in recent years,” noted CryptoRank.

Meme Coins Take Center Stage

The platform’s success can largely be attributed to the popularity of meme coins, with Cash Cat (CASHCAT) leading the charge. This meme coin has amassed a staggering $824.89 million in lifetime trading volume across 1.37 million trades. While tokenized real-world assets (RWA) are also gaining traction, they often trade alongside meme coins. On July 23, daily trading for RWAs peaked at $61.1 million, with meme coin and tokenized stock pairs accounting for approximately 75% of that volume.

As of July 24, the total value of tokenized assets on Robinhood Chain reached $25.4 million, marking a significant milestone since its launch. Tokenized stocks alone contributed $21.9 million to this figure.

Expanding Horizons: Prediction Markets

In addition to its focus on meme coins and RWAs, Robinhood is venturing deeper into the realm of prediction markets. Reports indicate that the company is in discussions with Crypto.com to potentially allow users to trade yes-or-no contracts directly on its platform. This move could further diversify Robinhood’s offerings and enhance user engagement.

Since early 2025, Robinhood has been collaborating with Kalshi contracts and has partnerships with other platforms like ForecastEx and Rothera. The company holds a significant stake in Rothera through a joint venture with Susquehanna, reportedly investing around $38 million.

While Robinhood is actively pursuing partnerships, it has yet to finalize any agreement with Crypto.com, and discussions may not lead to a formal collaboration.

The Road Ahead

As Robinhood Chain continues to gain momentum, its innovative approach to integrating meme coins, tokenized assets, and prediction markets could redefine the trading experience for its users. With a robust foundation and ambitious plans for expansion, the platform is poised to make waves in the ever-evolving crypto landscape.
