Superstate Launches New Crypto Carry Fund for Wealthy Investors
Superstate, a crypto firm founded by Robert Leshner, has introduced a new Crypto Carry Fund that allows wealthy investors to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities in the spot and futures market. This fund, in the form of an Ethereum ERC-20 token called USCC, aims to make the process more accessible and liquid for traders.
The fund primarily focuses on investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum arbitrage opportunities, but also includes safe investments like Treasury Bills during times when the spread is not favorable. Unlike traditional hedge funds, there is no lock-in period, and returns will be available on a daily basis.
Superstate co-founder Jim Hiltner highlighted that the fund charges a fee of 75 basis points, making it a more attractive option for investors compared to hedge funds that typically charge a higher rate. Additionally, the fund is structured to avoid margin calls and includes a cash buffer for added security.
However, the fund is only open to qualified purchasers with a minimum of $5 million in assets, and the lowest buy-in is set at $100,000. The founders hope to make the fund more accessible in the future, but for now, it complies with existing U.S. regulations.
Superstate’s success with its first fund, which has already amassed $100 million in assets, reflects the growing trend of tokenizing conventional assets in the crypto industry. As Wall Street increasingly embraces crypto, firms like Superstate are leading the way in bringing traditional finance into the digital asset space.
Leshner expressed optimism about the future of tokenizing real-world assets, noting that major players in traditional finance are showing interest in joining the industry council dedicated to this cause. With Superstate’s innovative approach and growing traction, the firm is paving the way for a new era of asset tokenization in the crypto world.
